Progesterone Testing

Once you decide you want to breed your female, the research can be...overwhelming.  From the time her heat starts all the way to weaning, we are here for you every step of the process.

We recommend starting progesterone testing within 5-7 days of her heat starting.  Some females ovulate quickly, while others take a little longer. With our in-house progesterone testing (Both IDEXX and Heska options), we are able to get results in 12 minutes, allowing for same day breeding if necessary in order to not miss the breeding window.

Breeding

Once your female has ovulated, you have a short window in which to breed.  We offer several options in order to get best results.

We offer standard artificial insemination (AI), transcervical insemination (TCI), or surgical insemination.  Which type of breeding is recommended changes based on progesterone testing and where your female is in her cycle.

If you'd like more information on any of these methods, give us a call!

Reproductive Ultrasound

Now that your female has been bred, it's time to hurry up....and wait.  As soon as 28-30 days after ovulation, we can perform a reproductive ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.  Ultrasound isn't a great way of telling you how many, but you will know if you have a litter or not.

If you would like to get a reproductive ultrasound scheduled, just give us a call or text, and we will get that appointment set for you!
